A Better Burn Begins with Better Care
Every StaruCraft candle is handcrafted using natural soy wax and thoughtfully selected fragrances. Proper candle care not only improves fragrance performance but also helps extend burn time and ensures a safer experience.
Following a few simple habits will allow your candle to burn more evenly and beautifully from the very first light.

How to Care for Your Candle
First Burn Matters
Allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the container during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn throughout the candle's life.
Trim the Wick
Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 5–7 mm to reduce smoke and maintain a steady flame.
Burn Responsibly
Do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool completely before relighting.
Choose a Safe Surface
Always place the candle on a heat-resistant, level surface away from curtains, paper, or other flammable materials.
Store Properly
Keep candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve fragrance and wax quality.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping the first full melt pool
- Leaving the wick too long
- Burning longer than four hours
- Blowing debris into the wax
- Burning near open windows or fans
- Moving the candle while the wax is hot
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my candle tunneling?
Tunneling usually occurs when the first burn is too short. Always allow the wax to melt fully across the surface.
How often should I trim the wick?
Trim the wick before every burn to approximately 5–7 mm.
How long should I burn my candle?
We recommend burning your candle for no more than four hours at a time.
Why is there a little wax left at the bottom?
Stop using your candle when approximately 10 mm of wax remains to help prevent the container from overheating.
Can soy wax change colour over time?
Yes. Slight colour changes are a natural characteristic of soy wax and do not affect performance.
